TRUE LOVE

True love resides in your heart forever. It needs no excuses, it does not have to compromise, it exists and sustains you when you do not think you can go on. It is a safe place you call home. It needs no words or long conversations--it just is. You know it is there and it has no fear. True love gives you strength even when you think no one is there. It is patient, it can weather any storm and just when you think it is dead, a memory or a song allows you to remember that true love lives on forever and it makes you strong.

RECONNECT

You shared a part of you today
You made me see the light of day
A glimpse into your pain
A shadow of my own
I swear to you our love was not in Vain

I spoke of truth and love for you
You said you no longer feel the same
If this is true then tell me why
We continue to play this game

We connect every now and then
Neither of us knows the time or when
We test the strength of our bond
Something compelling draws us to this place
Where fond memories and our love prevail

It seems to take us there each time
Friendship we can never find
Our love was too troubled to complex
To ever go on to what comes next

I will love you forever in my heart
Though distance keeps us apart
Nothing else can compare
Nothing can replace my wanting to be there
My longing to hold you close
And forever keep you near

True Love

A girl of a mere thirteen
A love so pure
And so clean
A woman that was his queen
A life together
They dreamed
A tragedy indeed
It has been
The love that
No one had seen
Forever so pure
And clean
Could never his queen be
For she and he
Loved too much
And too free
They let others
Intersect
They could never
Connect
Completely
And Thoroughly
They could
Never be free
To love and
Only love thee

Dark Chocolate

No more Dark Chocolate on my lips
No more Dark Chocolate rocking my hips
Dark Chocolate is good for your heart
If you love Dark Chocolate then you
better not start
Dark Chocolate is full of love
Dark Chocolate is sent from above
Do you love Dark Chocolate?
Dark Chocolate will make your heart skip a beat
Dark Chocolate will drive you crazy
Dark Chocolate will have you walking the street
If you still love Dark Chocolate
You better hasten your feet
'cause Dark Chocolate will make you weak
But....Dark Chocolate is ohhhh soooo sweet.

I Deserve To Be Loved

I deserve to be loved unconditionally
I deserve to be loved for me
I deserve to love and love completely
I deserve your love for me

I deserve to give my love freely
I deserve to have passion
I deserve to be free
I deserve to be loved
Like God loves me
Unconditionally

Green Eye Monster

There is something called
a green eyed monster
that lives in the heart
of every man.

If you have ever been
the subject of envy
then you will understand

But do not be dismayed
For this I know is true
for what is meant for you
God will give you everything you are due
What's yours is yours
and what's mine is mine
there is no need for envy
or jealousy you will find.

What God has planned for each of us
cannot be taken away
but …that green eyed monster cannot be alive in your heart....

For to feel God’s love and to receive all that you are due
There cannot be any envy or jealousy in you.

Dreams of a Lost Love

Plagued by dreams of a love long lost
sleep and slumber I detest
memories of kisses interrupt my rest
passionate kisses he presses on my lips
as his hand form a familiar embrace.
He pulls me close so playfully
young lovers forever I dream
a love that nothing comes between.

Awake I feel my insides ache
to face the dawn of a blessed new day
without the prospect of his embrace
nor his familiar arms around my waist.
Oh what I long for most of all
are his soft and tender kisses upon on my face.

Loving

The curves of my hips
The warmth of your lips
The smile in your eyes
The sound of my cries
The caress of your touch
The feelings
I love so much
You and I as one
Never to be undone
Joined at the hips
Tasting each others lips
Smiling in each others eyes
Loving…..
The sounds of our cries
The bond that we share
Sweet nothings you whisper in my ear
Oh Dear!!!
The calm of our sleep
To our hearts single beat
For our love is oh so sweet.

A Chance at Love

I once took a chance at love one day
And slipped and fell in all the way
It covered me from the top of my head
To the bottom of my feet
And I do say, I have never felt so complete
To have shared something so special and so deep
With someone whom I was forbidden to meet.
Through stolen moments and secret dates
We found the time to celebrate
A quiet walk through the park
A soft place to lay, a secret place to play
The park became our hideaway
We fell into each other’s arms
And on a blanket of leaves we lay
To celebrate our love and each other on a warm summer day.

Roaming Eyes

Roaming eyes
You won’t be denied
Damn you are fly
Snappy dresser
Cool and sassy
Very classy!!
Can’t hold you down
Running every woman in town
Tonight will be me
Lips telling me lies
Women around you like flies
Tonight you are with me
Making promises, promises
A night on the town
My arm in yours
A sneak peak at a show
A creak in the hotel door
You and me loving
You must be some clown
Your love is not the only game in town
You must be tripping
What you been sipping
I feel my our love slipping
Because I am worth keeping.

INSPIRATION

For twenty five years, I did not write a poem
Not a single word of praise
You have inspired me to reflect upon my troubled ways
I learned that the flicker of love
I kept deep in my heart
Only needed a spark from you
For the fire within to start
I have tried so hard to forget you
I have prayed your love away
I have asked God to forgive me
For all I did not say
To keep me strong when I let you walk away
On that God forsaken day
Oh God please save me
My heart is breaking still
Why must I still suffer
For going against your will
I have too much at stake
Too many hearts will break
I thought I ‘d paid the price
To live my life with sacrifice
Too many nights I’ve cried
Because you were not at my side
A friend was in my bed
But you were in my head
I suffered for your loss
I underestimated the cost
I long to smile again
A smile from deep within
A smile that only you can bring
A smile of Love created without sin
Over time I learned to love
That friend that I had married
But in my heart I buried
The love for you I carried
I do not know how this will end
I am happy God has claimed you
He has worked hard in my life
He has saved me from a life of strife
Over time he has eased my pain
He showed me that my love was not in vain
Without the struggles we’ve been through
We could not be born anew
Oh how I long to hold you
To kiss your tears away
To let you know how sorry I am
To not have listened to my heart
To trust that what I was feeling
Was right from the very start

YOU SAY YOU LOVE ME?

You say that you love me
But I look at the things you do
Your words speak of love for me
But your actions say, it’s not true.
You say you could not handle me
You asked your dad, what should you do?
“Hit her” were his words to you.
And stupid you what did you do?
You listened to the one who was hitting you…
Then hit the one true love you ever knew, the only one who truly loved you too.
What did you think that I would do?
Were the flowers a gift from your dad too?
I told you then, what I had learned
Every pain in my heart my dad had churned
Too many years of hurt to count
And you dare to come to me on your dad’s account
What expertise did he demonstrate?
As your father - filling your heart with hate?
You made your choice back then you see
You chose your fist over your love for me
Can’t you see what your choice did to me?
Despite what was in my heart, I had to set you free
For I deserved someone who loved me completely-
Even though we loved each other equally.

With a single stroke of your hand
You proved we could never be
I would not relive history
In my own home you see
The man I love should NEVER EVER raise his hand at me.
What did you think I had learned all those years?
When in your arms I cried so many tears
That pain in my heart had taught me…
I deserved someone who loved and respected me.
So you see, there was only one choice for me
To let the love that burned deep within
Slowly die and pray that God would set my heart free
To love another as they would love me.

Liberation

This is a day of liberation
Don’t stifle what you feel
I am a woman and what I feel is real
Some say that I am rebellious
I just don’t understand
Why some things need not be said
That true love is dead
Deny your feelings, just push it all away
Take it all to the Lord in prayer they say
If this is true and God made you
Then why did he make me too?
I am your voice of reason
Of limitless sacrifice
For you I paid the ultimate price
God did not make me to walk the path you do
But he did make me to keep on loving you
He filled my head with questions and that rebellious nature too
He did not make me humble
He did not make me weak
He gave me a voice
That I would speak
Speak against all that pains me
Speak to my heart’s desire
Speak of Love and those I admire
He dissolved my ability to hate
How can I stay silent?
As I approach my fate?
How can I ignore his call when I approach his gate?
Oh God please guide me
To remain true to your will
To always love you first but remain a woman still
